New Trend for Progressive Public School

Today reading writing and arithmetic are only three of many subjects schools are resposnsible for teaching their students. Young people are faced with so many issues that implementing policies procedures and programs are routine. From safe-sex and underage drinking, to anti-drug and anti- bully. The list of issues continue to grow.

Locker searches seem to be standard anymore. Now metal-detectors and the presence of campus police don't arouse much curiosity. These implementations have had a negative impact on the climate of the schools environment. Schools have become more institutionalized, and cold. Now, more than ever, public schools are trying to gain ground from their rising competitors: charter schools, private schools, and home schools. Administrators are eager to change this effect. They are asking for a warmer environment that feels nurturing, and creative.

Steve Haberman is a middle school Principle from Clarion Iowa, who is known for acting boldly on behalf of change. Already,Winner of the Principle of the Year Award, He continues to generate new ideas in creating a better school environment.

"It was so fun designing the wall murals for Mr. Haberman's Middle School," Patrick Conlon, president of SportsGraphics says. "He has a great vision for his school like most principles do, but he aggressively pursues that vision whole heartedly. He inspires everyone he is around, most importantly his students."

"To see these wall murals down the hallways of high schools and middle schools is like someone opening a window on a spring day and the music of Chopin fills the air,"said Kimberly Conlon, SportsGraphics Marketing Director. It's that refreshing. It rejuvenates the soul and inspires students to be like the great thinkers of the past, or at the very least, question what made them so unique. And the answer to that question is the entire reason we designed Wall Murals For Schools." SportsGraphics has manufactured wall padding, bleacher end-closures, and other safety and sports- image products for the past twenty two years. In The last year, they have been bombarded with interest from school administrators to give them something to address the environment of the rest of their facility, not just the gymnasium and fields.

The family owned business, came up with these digital murals that look like you paid thousand of dollars for a painter to handpaint a mural; only there is no mess, no waiting weeks, and no guesswork about what the end result will be. It is a thin grahic film that is applied with heat to any surface from cinder-block, brick, stucco or drywall, and the complete installation time is a few hours.

"Designing the wall murals for Mr. Haberman's Middle School, was so rewarding. I love the fact that we are adressing the power of imagery in a positive, meaningful way. Kids are bombarded with negative and self defeating thoughts on a moment to moment basis," Patrick Conlon, President of SportsGraphics says. "I was proud to assist Mr. Haberman's vision for his students and staff."

"When you walk in to this school you can tell this place is different," Mr. Haberman said. The student's reaction is the real test. So far, according to this Principle,"Students actually stop to look and read them," He says wide eyed. "After a music concert the other night, I watched parents stroll the entire building just taking in all the art. A kindergarden class actually came over just to tour the building!" Mr. Haberman is one Middle School Principle who would never settle for mediocrity. This is definitely not your cookie-cutter school.
