The thoughts of someone being able to find out information about you can be quite intimidating. Thinking someone knows details about what you buy at the grocery store can be overwhelming. When people hear that they are being researched (after applying for a house to rent or employment) these thoughts run their mind. Most people do not know what is on the typical background check, so we will answer that now.

The background search that is performed on you will vary depending on at type of job you are applying for. If you are dealing with customers or money on a daily basis (or sometimes at all) then you can count on a comprehensive background check being performed on you. If you do not handle money or customers, then a basic check such as employment and refernce check will probably be performed.

Going into people's homes or handling money will ensure that you will have a detailed background check search performed on you. This is necessary to protect the finances and customers of the company.

If you are handling money or with many customers (since you will be representing the company) then you can be assured that you will have a detailed background check search imposed on you. This will include credit, criminal and sex offender search. An exhaustive financial profile may also be necessary when you apply for a job with a lot of responsibility.

A credit check will typically tell your future or potentiale employer how responsbile you are. A low credit score is a good indicator of your future success at the company. If you have trouble paying your bills, or have a negative credit experience, then chances are real good you will not land the job. Most of the time, companies will need to get permission to perform the background check, ask questions and find out what they are looking for before you give them permission.
