Education is the key for a successful career, which is why it is the primary responsibility of all parents to send their children to school. Although education is a necessity, not all parents are able to fund their children's schooling. Most usually stop after they graduate from high school.

More and more people no longer have the financial resources to send their kids to school. This is true not only in America, but around the world. Private organizations and governments are stepping up ways to help kids with limited resources stay in school and complete college. There is an increasing number of scholarships available.

Everyone has different talents. Some students are good at computers, some in sports, and some are good at dancing and music. Organizations are realizing the value of all talents beyond just sports and as such are now offering college scholarships based on a field of interest. If you love music you need to know that new scholarships are available.

Music is very popular, and many students are becoming interested in this certain area. Although some parents may not like their children to pursue a career in music (because what they want is a more stable career), students have a choice.

Below is a list of a few music scholarships available for college:

1. Bel Canto offers a $15,000 scholarship for people between the ages of 20 and 37 who want to pursue a career in opera in the United States.

2. The John Lennon BMI scholarship. This scholarship is by invitation only. This scholarship is awarded to songwriters.

3. The String Magazine Scholarship. This scholarship is open to any student who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate program. This scholarship is based on academic merit and financial need.

With less competition in the field of music, qualifying for a scholarship is easier than you might think so go and take the chance.

You should not be discouraged for applying for these scholarships if you are in financial hardship. Everyone can relate to financial hardship because we were all young once and there.

Not having the money to go to school should not make you drop out of college. You need to spend some extra time researching these music scholarships.
