The International English Language Testing, or IELTS, needs proper preparation in order do be passed. I'm going to discuss some very important steps needed to be taken in order to pass the IELTS. This test is required for people who are seeking to enter certain countries in order to work or attend school.

Slang is not allowed

When taking the test be careful not to use slang. You are not talking to to friends or family. These mental mistakes can end up costing you dearly. Here are a few words to avoid

Gonna for going to, dunno for don't know or wanna for want to. Try to avoid using these.

Use full form of words instead of contractions.

Contractions are words that are joined together with some letters left out with an apostrophe instead. These are going to be kind of words where you have the option of joining them together or keeping them separate. Examples are: aren't for are not, couldn't for could not, we'll for we will.

Hopefully you're beginning to get the idea. There are a lot of these types of words you'll need to be aware of, many times they'll come to you naturally and you'll know right away that you shouldn't be using them. It is okay to use them on the speaking part of your test but not on the writing part.

Practice the writing portion

The written portion is the most important part of the test, so you must be careful not to use "chat room" or "IM" writing. Do not use u for you, k for ok, cya for see you or lol for laugh out loud. Phone texting, Skype, and internet chat rooms have made this form of writing more common.

It is very easy to get these phrases confused especially if you aren't a native English speaker. When you're going through your IELTS preparation be sure to keep these things in mind.

With the right IELTS preparation the IELTS isn't that hard to do. There are numerous ways to prepare for this test to make sure you get a high enough score to pass. Just make sure you take the test as quickly as possible after you have done all your preparations, while the information is still fresh in your mind
